Baseball's Boaen Named Academic All-District First-Team

PHILADELPHIA - Junior centerfielder Joey Boaen was named to the ESPN The Magazine Academic All-District II First Team, the publication announced.

Boaen, a native of Savannah, Ga., had a 3.5 grade-point average as an economics major while statistically ranking among the best leadoff hitters in the Ivy League.

Despite missing the last 11 games of the season due to a broken hand, Boaen still led the Quakers with a .349 batting average, four home runsand a slugging percentage of .596.

As a first-team all-district selection, Boaen is now eligible for Academic All-America consideration.
