Baseball's Wallace Named Ivy League Pitcher of the Week

PHILADELPHIA - Right-handed hurler Bret Wallace has been named the Ivy League Pitcher of the Week for his efforts against Lehigh and Temple last week.

The Lafayette, Calif., native earned his first victory in his first collegiate start on March 18 against Lehigh, as he allowed one unearned run in seven innings of work. Wallace struck out four Mountain Hawk batters while scattering six hits to lead Penn to a 5-1 victory.

The sophomorealso allowed no earned runs in one inning pitched on March 15 against Temple.

The Quakers return to the diamond on Wednesday, March 22, for a 3 p.m. game in Easton, Pa., against Lafayette.
