Bernardini Earns Honorable Mention All-Ivy

PHILADELPHIA - The Ivy League has announced its All-Ivy teams for the 2008-09 men’s basketball season, and Penn sophomore guard Tyler Bernardini represents the Quakers as an honorable mention selection.

Bernardini receives honorable mention for the second straight year after leading Penn in scoring (13.7 ppg), finishing second in steals (34) and third in assists (49). He also averaged 4.0 rebounds per contest. Despite missing the last three games of the season, Bernardini led Penn in scoring in a team-high 10 games this season, and put up a team-leading 18 double-figure scoring performances including four games with 20 or more points.

Penn finished the season Tuesday night with a 59-56 loss to Princeton; the Quakers closed out the campaign with a 10-18 overall record, and went 6-8 in the Ivy League.

Dartmouth’s Alex Barnett was the Ivy League Player of the Year, while Cornell’s Chris Wroblewski was the Ivy League Rookie of the Year.
