PHILADELPHIA - The Philadelphia Big 5 has named its Players of the Week, and Penn junior Carrie Biemer has been earned the honor on the women’s side.
Biemer led the Quakers in scoring both nights over the weekend, dropping 19 points at Cornell and 22 a night later in a win over Columbia. The junior also nabbed a career-high nine rebounds against the Lions, leaving her just one away from her first double-double. For the weekend, Biemer shot 53.1 percent from the field (17-of-32) and drained four three-point shots.
Heading into Tuesday night’s season finale against Princeton, Biemer leads the Quakers in overall scoring this season, averaging 13.6 points per game, and she is third with 4.1 rebounds per contest.
