Boaen Named Philadelphia Diamond Five Player of the Week

PHILADELPHIA– Penn junior centerfielder Joey Boaen has been named the Philadelphia Diamond Five Player of the Week, in voting conducted by the area head coaches. Boaen batted .625 (10-for-16)with eight RBI and six runs score for the Quakers.

Five of his hits went for extra bases as he recorded three doubles, a triple and a home run for a slugging percentage of 1.125. He went 5-for-6 with three doubles and four RBI in a 13-1 win over Saint Joseph’s on Wednesday.

Formed with the mission of increasing the exposure of college baseball in the area, the Diamond Five is comprised of the five Division I universities in Philadelphia that sponsor baseball. The Diamond Five will announce a Player and Pitcher of the Week every Tuesday. The first-ever All-Diamond Five team will be announced at the conclusion of the season.
