Boston Earns Provisional Pentathlon Mark

ITHACA, N.Y.--The senior captain of the Penn women's track and field team, Shani Boston, earned 3,706 points in the pentathlon, a personal best and an NCAA provisional mark. Boston took first in the pentathlon at Cornell's Upstate Challenge at the Robert J. Kane Field House, Saturday.

Boston ranthe 60-meter hurdles in a time of 9.31 seconds, a new personal best.Also topping her previous bests were her 1.68m high jump and 13.45m shot put. Combined with2:39.18 in the 800 meter run and5.47m in the long jump, Boston scored 3,706 in the event.

She was the only Quaker competing at the event, but will be back in action with the rest of her team at the Penn State Open, Jan. 26-27.
