PHILADELPHIA - Senior Richard Brushett of the University of Pennsylvania men's soccer team has been named to the ESPN the Magazine Academic All-District IIFirst Team by CoSIDA.
With the first-team honor, Brushett will move onto the national ballot for consideration towards the Academic All-America teams. It is the second timethe chemical and biomolecular engineering major has earned first-team all-district honors, as he was previously named to the team in 2003. To be eligible for the Academic All-District teams, student-athletes must hold sophomore status with a minimum 3.2 GPA.
This season, Brushett has played in all 13 games, starting four on the right wing, while taking nine shots and collecting a pair of assists.
Brushett and the Quakers will play their home finale Saturday evening against Princeton at 7:30 p.m.
