STORRS, Conn - Penn sophomore Kyle Calvo broke the Penn school record in the heptahlon on Saturday at the UCONN Invitational. Calvo's 5,266 points was 54 points better than Chris Carter's 2004 mark and was good enough for first place at the meet. Classmate Mike Hall finished second in the event with 5,128 points.
Calvo won three of the seven events (the 60m dash, high jump and long jump) and took third in two (60m hurdles and pole vault). Hall won the pole vault and took second in the 60m hurdles.
TheQuakers will compete at Navy against the Midshipmen, Winthrop, Robert Morris and Virginia Commonwealth. The meet is slated to start at 11:30 a.m. at the Halsey Field House.
