Freshman midfielder Natalie Capuano was named the Ivy League Rookie of the Week. The announcement was made late Monday by the conference office.
Capuano, who is second on the team with three goals this season, scored in the team's 2-1 win against George Mason last week, then helped the Quakers earn a 0-0 draw with Harvard in the Ivy League opener for both teams. Penn is at Loyola Wednesday afternoon, then meets Cornell Saturday in the first half of a women's/men's doubleheader that will be the first night games at Rhodes Field.
This is Capuano's first weekly honor from the Ivy League, and it is the first award by a Penn player since Rachelle Snyder was named Ivy League Player of the Week almost exactly a year ago, on Oct. 5, 2004.
