Carlin and Distance Medley Earn NCAA Marks


BOSTON, Mass.--The Penn women’s track and field team competed in seven events at the ECAC Championships in Boston, Mass. marking two NCAA provisional marks. Junior Jesse Carlin ran a 2:08.48 in the 800 meter run. Kinjal Parikh, Shaunee Morgan and Stacy Kim joined Carlin on Penn’s distance medley relay that also clocked a provisional time of 11:26.92.

Kim, Carlin and Morgan had qualified with Christina Morrison earlier in the season with a time of 11:34.70, but subbed in Parikh to the team after Morrison was sidelined with injury.

Kim continued to improve in the mile setting her personal best with a time of 4:50.13, but was still shy of the 4:48 NCAA qualifying time.

Shaunee Morgan ran the 200 meter dash in a time of 24.56 for 10th place in the preliminaries.

Penn’s only field competitor, Camille Richard marked 11.76m in the triple jump.

In the relays, Jamie Massarelli, Laura McDaniel, Pari Hashemi and Lauren Blake ran a 3:55.15 in the 4x400 meter relay. In the 4x800 meter relay, Parikh, Anna Aagenes, Kimberly Shooshan and Charlotte Lawson combined in the preliminaries for a time of 9:07.46. However in the final, Madeleine Evans was subbed in for Parikh. The team placed ninth in the final with a time of 9:25.09.
