SACRAMENTO, Calif.--Junior Jesse Carlin ran a time of 2:09.15 in the 800 meter run and finished 22nd overall at the NCAA Championships in Sacramento, Calif. Her time was not enough to qualify for the semifinals of the event.
Carlin ran in the fourth heat and finished fifth of seven, but well ahead of the sixth (2:12.99) and seventh (2:18.74)finishers. The winning time in her heat was produced by Heather Dorniden, a sophomore from the University of Minnesota with a time of 2:05.21.
Carlin won the ECAC crown in the 800m(2:07.85)andran a personal best time of 2:06.29 toplace third at the NCAA Regional meet finals to advance to her first NCAA Championships.
The top time of the day was ran by University of Michigan senior Katie Erdman with a time of 2:04.14.
The top three times from each heat as well as the next four best overall times advance to the semifinals (5:05 p.m. PT, Thursday). The final (10:28 a.m. PT, Saturday) will feature the top three times from each heat of the semifinals along with the next two best times.
