Carlin Finshes Sixth in 800 Meters NCAA Final

FAYAETTTEVILLE, Ark.—Senior Jesse Carlin crossed the line at 2:06.48 in the 800 meter finals Sunday, good for sixth place at the NCAA championship.

The time was her second best of the season (she clocked in at 2:06.27 at ECACs) and was an improvement from her preliminaries time of 2:07.54 she ran on Day 1 of NCAA championships on Friday.

Carlin’s sixth-place finish earned her All-America honors. It was the second time Carlin won the honors this weekend—Carlin also ran the third leg of the seventh-place distance medley relay team that earned All-America status.

Louisiana State University sophomore Latavia Thomas took top honors in the 800 meter finals, finishing in 2:05.07.
