Carlin Wins ECAC Crown in 800

Final ECAC Championship Results

PRINCETON, N.J. - The Penn women's track & field team competed at the ECAC Championships this weekend at Princeton University's Weaver Stadium, and the Quakers' participation was highlighted by senior Jesse Carlin's individual victory in the 800.

Carlin's win was her fifth ECAC individual title, and her sixth overall. She clocked an NCAA regional qualifying time of 2:06.87 in winning her championship, after posting thethird-best timein the prelims. Anna Aagenes also ran the 800, and placed 21st in the prelims with a time of 2:14.18.

Leah Brogan finished sixth in the 5,000, clocking 17:05.17, while Jamie Liberti was 13th in the 3,000 in 10:04.75. In the 1,500 prelims, Kinjal Parikh posted the 19th-best time (4:32.33) while Claire Kim was 26th (4:33.68).

In the field events, Deanna Morelli placed 12th in the javelin with a best toss of 40.30 meters (132 feet, 3 inches) and Kathryn Gevitz was 30th in the triple jump with a top distance of 10.78 meters (35 feet, 4.5 inches).

In the relays, Penn barely missed reaching the final of the 4x800 with a ninth-place finish in 9:08.79, while the 4x400 relay team finished 21st in 3:50.40, and the 4x100 relay team was 23rd in 48.17 seconds.

Penn finished 23rd as a team, scoring 13 points. The University of Connecticut easily won the team title, scoring 83 points, while second-place Virginia scored 53.
