Carr Resigns Her Position As Head Women’s Volleyball Coach At Penn

PHILADELPHIA - Kerry Major Carr, the Kenneth L. Gross Head Coach of Women’s Volleyball at the University of Pennsylvania, has resigned her position, Director of Athletics Dr. M. Grace Calhoun announced today. 

“I want to thank Kerry for her many years of service to Penn Volleyball and wish her and her family the best in the future,” Calhoun said. “We will begin a national search immediately to find the right candidate to lead our program moving forward.”

Carr compiled a 282-221 record in 19 seasons as the head coach at Penn, winning five Ivy League championships. The Quakers had a 10-16 record (5-9 Ivy League) in 2016. Carr previously coached at Georgetown, Hawaii, and Alaska-Anchorage following her graduation from William and Mary in 1990. 

Scott Schweihofer will serve as the interim head coach while a national search is conducted.
