Carre Named Ivy League Offensive Player of the Week

PHILADELPHIA - Senior Matt Carre of the Penn football team has been named the Ivy League Offensive Player of the Week.

Carre had a career day at Princeton on Saturday. He caught five passes for 114 yards, including two late touchdowns. His first score tied the game at 24 with 39 seconds left in regulation as he threaded the secondary to make a diving 16-yard catch. His secondtouchdown came in the second overtime period, when he caught a 25-yard pass in the back of the end zone. Carre also had a spectacular diving catch at the one on a fourth-and-18 early in the fourth quarter with Penn trailing 24-10.

Carre's 114 yards in the game put him in seventh place on the Quakers' all-time receiving list with 1,319 career yards.

Penn concludes its home schedule this Saturday with Harvard. Kickoff is set for 1 p.m., and the game will be televised live on CN8.
