Cartwright Named Ivy Rookie of the Week

PHILADELPHIA- The Ivy League has announced its weekly award winners in men's basketball, and Penn freshman guard Miles Cartwright has been named Ivy League Rookie of the Week for the second time in three weeks.

Cartwright earned the honor after scoring a game-high 22 points at No. 5 Pitt on Saturday. That total was the game high and came from his scorching shooting performance (7-of-8 on field goals including 3-of-4 from three-point land, 5-of-6 foul shooting). Earlier in the week, Cartwright had seven points, five rebounds and two assists in the Quakers' 74-65 victory over Lafayette.

Currently Cartwright is third on the team in scoring, averaging 10.8 points per game, and he has a team-leading six steals to go with nine assists and three blocked shots. Penn (2-3) is in action twice this week, hosting UMBC on Tuesday night before meeting Army at the IZOD Center in East Rutherford, N.J. on Saturday.
