Cissie Leary Tennis Invitational Ends with ETSU Wins

PHILADELPHIA - The 13th annual Cissie Leary Memorial Invitational came to a close Sunday with No. 1 seed Yevgeniya Stupak of East Tennessee State winning the singles final, as well as taking top honors with doubles partner Kelly Holtzhausen. Penn's Emily Wolf made it to the quarterfinals of both the singles and doubles bracket with teammate Molly Anderson.

Wolf defeated Sarah Lederhandler of Yale 7-5, 4-6, 6-4 to reach the singles quarterfinal. However, No. 3 seed Nicole Bartnik from Columbia overcame Wolf 6-1, 6-1. East Tennessee State's Stupak defeated Bartnick 6-1, 6-1 in the finals.

In doubles action, the duo of Anderson and Wolf defeated Eliza Matache and Katarina Kovacevic of Columbia to reach the quarterfinals, but then fell 8-1 to No. 1 seed Stupak and Holtchausen. The ETSU team went on to beat Yale's Vicky Brook and Lederhandler 8-4 in the final.

The Quakers continue their fall schedule, competing in the Saint Joseph's Invitational Oct. 2-4.
