CAMBRIDGE, Mass. - A win in the Women's Club Fours on Saturday highlighted the University of Pennsylvania women's rowing team's weekend at the prestigious Head of the Charles Regatta in Boston.
Racing on Saturday, Penn clocked 19:08.815 over the three-mile course which was more than four seconds ahead of second-place Wisconsin (19:12.848). Overall, 59 boats competed in the division. Penn's winning boat consisted of Emma Cruz (cox), Alex Ulin (stroke), Sarah Henry, Jillian Lundstrom and Katie Harlow.
Also on Saturday, Penn rowed in the Women's Club Eights division (39 boats) and finished fifth overall in 17:12.322.
On Sunday, Penn rowed in the Women's Championship Eights and finished eighth in the 33-boat division. The Quakers clocked 17:25.182. Cambridge won the division, while Yale came through as the first American college boat.
Penn returns to action next weekend, the Quakers are schedule to compete at the Head of the Schuylkill on Saturday and the Princeton Chase on Sunday.
