PHILADELPHIA- The Ivy League has announced its weekly awards for field hockey, and University of Pennsylvania freshman Jasmine Cole was prominently featured. The freshman forward was named co-Ivy League Player of the Week along with Yale's Erica Borgo; she also took Ivy League Rookie of the Week honors solo.

Cole's honors were well-deserved. Playing in her first Ivy League game as a collegian, the freshman recorded a hat trick -- her second in three games -- and scored each of the Quakers' last three goals as they held off Cornell, 4-3, in the first game at the new Ellen Vagelos Field. One day later, she added another goal in Penn's 7-0 win over Pacific.

Just five games into her collegiate career, Cole already has eight goals and leads Penn in that category.

Penn is in action Wednesday afternoon, hosting La Salle at Ellen Vagelos Field at 4 p.m. On Saturday, the Quakers return to Ivy League action at Harvard, facing off with the Crimson at noon.
