Coloma Named Ivy Rookie of the Week for Third Time

PHILADELPHIA - Receiving the honor for the third time this season, freshman Brooke Coloma was named the Ivy League's Rookie of the Week by the conference office Tuesday afternoon.

Coloma (Martinez, Calif.) led the team with a .500 average (6-for-12) and .917 slugging percentage with three doubles, a triple, and two runs batted in as the Quakers went 3-2 on the week. In Penn's 8-7 come-from-behind win over Columbia, she went 3-for-4 with an RBI double and stolen base that forced a throw down to allow a run to score. Coloma capped her eight-game hit streak, which included five multi-hit games, with a single in the season finale doubleheader with the Lions. Coloma finished her freshman campaign with a team-leading 29 RBI and six home runs.
