PHILADELPHIA - Freshman Dami Omitaomu of the University of Pennsylvania men's soccer team has been named the Philadelphia Soccer Six Rookie of the Week, announced Monday.
Omitaomu netted his first career goal on the road Saturday evening, as a part of a 3-0 Penn (4-4-5, 2-2 Ivy) victory over Yale. The Knoxville, Tenn. native recorded the game winner in the sixth minute to open up the scoring for the Quakers, on a crossed ball from the right side of the box. The award is the first of Omitaomu's career.
Penn returns to action tomorrow, Tuesday, Oct. 25 at 7 p.m., hosting the West Virginia Mountaineers.
