PHILADELPHIA - Following her outstanding performance against Cornell, Dana Bonincontri has been honored as the ECAC Division I Gymnast of the Week. Bonincontri capped off her day with a career-high score in the All Around (38.825). She also recorded career-highs in the Uneven Parallel Bars (9.850) and Balance Beam (9.775). All three of these scores were also the highest in the ECAC for the week. Bonincontri also led the Quakers with a 9.600 on the Vault against Cornell, which placed her second overall in the meet. In her final event of the afternoon, Bonincontri scored a 9.600 on the Floor Exercise to finish in third place overall for the meet.
Bonincontri is currently ranked fifth in the ECAC and 12th in the Northeast Region in the All Around. She is also currently ranked eighth in the Balance Beam, 11th in the Uneven Parallel Bars, 13th on Floor Exercise, and 14th on the Vault in the ECAC. She also owns the highest score in the bars completion within the ECAC.
Bonincontri's classmate, Kirsten Strausbaugh was also recognized as having the third best Floor Exercise routine (9.725) for the week in the ECAC.
Bonincontri and Strausbaugh will both be competing in the Shelli Calloway Memorial Invitational next weekend at Towson on February 20. The team will then return home where they will host the Ivy Classic in The Palestra on February 27
