Boston - Junior Dana McCurdy set a new school record in the 500m as the University of Pennsylvania women's track and field team wrapped up competition at the Boston University Terrier Classic this afternoon.
McCurdy placed second overall and was the top collegiate finisherin the 500m with a time of 1:14.56 but broke the previous Penn standard by more than a second and a half.
In the 200m, Izu Emeagwali finished ninth with a personal best of 25.33 and the third-fastest time in the record books.
The 4x400 relay team of Jesse Carlin, McCurdy, Shaunee Morgan and Krysta Copeland placed second clocking a time of 3:49.09 for the second-fastest time in the Red and Blue record books.
Freshmen Stacy Kim, Jesse Carlin, Claire Kim and sophomore Tina Morrison had an impressive run in the distance medley relay finishing in third place with a time of 11:42.13, the second-fastest in Penn history.
Penn is back in action on Feb. 5 as it travels to Princeton.
