PHILADELPHIA Penn sprint football player Michael D'Angelo will be honored at the 64th Annual Brooks Irvine Club Banquet on Tuesday, Dec. 16. D’Angelo is receiving a special recognition award for his excellence in the classroom, his leadership and his outstanding athletic play in the CSFL.
At Penn, D’Angelo is enrolled in Wharton with a concentration in Finance and is a member of the Friars Club. On the field, D’Angelo was a two-year captain for the sprint football team. He received the Ideal Player Award and Most Valuable Player Award two times, the Outstanding Freshmen Award and the Spirit Award, in addition to receiving Academic All-Ivy honors. D’Angelo garnered All-CSFL honors each of his four years, including first-team his sophomore and senior year. He finished the 2008 season with a CSFL-leading 1,288 passing yards, the most ever in a season by a Penn quarterback.
Prior to being a Quaker, D’Angelo attended Paul VI High School and was the first recipient of the Edward Miersch Scholarship Award following graduation.
