PHILADELPHIA - As part of the Penn Alumni Film Festival during Homecoming Weekend, the Emmy-nominated documentary, The Streak, will be shown Oct. 30 at 4:30 p.m. in Claudia Cohen Hall (Room G-17).
The film, directed by Penn alum Jonathan Hock '85, follows the record-setting streak of Brandon High School in Tampa, Florida. Brandon holds the nation's record for most consecutive dual-mmet wins at the high school level, winning 459 consecutive duals over a 34-year span.
The documentary chronicles the 2007-08 season for Brandon and features the families of two members of the Penn wrestling family - Cesar Grajales '10 and junior Tom Timothy. Both were state champions at the individual and team level for Brandon while in high school.
After the viewing, a Q&A with Timoty, Grajales and Hock will be held.
Below is a preview of the film from ESPN, the station the documentary was first aired on. Pay notice to Grajale and Timothy's names on the Wall of Champions and a picture of Timothy from the newspaper in this two-minute clip.
