PHILADELPHIA - The Ivy League has announced its weekly award winners in men's lacrosse, and the University of Pennsylvania had two players recognized as senior attackman Nick Doktor was named co-Player of the Week (with Yale's Ben Reeves) and freshman attackman Simon Mathias was named Rookie of the Week.
The awards come on the heels of Penn's emphatic, 20-10 win at Princeton on Saturday, the Quakers' first win at their archrival's home field since 1988. Doktor recorded seven points in the game, one shy of his career high, with a goal and a career-best six assists. Mathias, meanwhile, scored five goals and added an assist.
Doktor -- who has a 33-game point-scoring streak that dates back to the 2014 season -- enters this week leading the nation in assists per game (3.33) and is seventh nationally in points per game (4.67). Mathias, meanwhile, has 11 goals and two assists this season.
Penn is back at home this Saturday, hosting Cornell in a game that will start at noon on Franklin Field.
