PHILADELPHIA - Inside Lacrosse has announced its NCAA Division I Preseason All-America Teams for the 2016 season, and University of Pennsylvania senior attackman Nick Doktor received an honorable mention All-America nod from the publication. The NCAA D1 Preseason All-America Teams are part of the Inside Lacrosse 2016 Face-Off Yearbook.
A second-team All-Ivy pick last year, Doktor finished the 2015 regular season with 21 goals and team highs in assists (36) and points (57). His 36 assists are third on Penn's all-time single-season list in that category, and the most since Peter Hollis had 41 in 1977, while his 57 points are tied for fourth on Penn's single-season list and the most since Jon Cusson had 57 in 1995. Doktor finished the regular season leading the Ivy League and fourth nationally in assists per game (2.77), and third among Ivy players and 12th nationally in points per game (4.38).
Doktor also was Penn's leader in assists (19) and points (42) as a sophomore in 2014, and earned all-tournament honors when the Quakers won the Ivy League Tournament and advanced to the NCAA Championship first round.
Doktor enters the 2016 season 11th on Penn's all-time assist list with 59 and 15th on the all-time points list with 115. He also has a 27-game point-scoring streak that dates back to the 2014 season.
Penn opens its 2016 campaign on Saturday, Feb. 20, when the Quakers host the University of Michigan at Franklin Field at 3 p.m.
