PHILADELPHIA – Senior forward Duke Lacroix has been invited to the adidas MLS Player Combine, one of 64 players invited to audition for the 20 Major League Soccer organizations in preparation for the 2015 MLS SuperDraft on January 15 in Philadelphia.
A two-time first-team All-Ivy selection and one of three Penn players in program history to earn All-Ivy honors each of his four seasons donning the Red and Blue, Lacroix was the 2010 Ivy League Rookie of the Year and 2013 Ivy League Offensive Player of the Year. He appeared in two NCAA Tournaments, earning an at-large selection in 2010 and gaining automatic entry in 2013 when the Quakers were Ivy League champions.
Lacroix was twice honored by the NSCAA as an All-Region selection, earning the recognition in 2013 and 2014.
The only Ivy Leaguer invited to the combine so far, Lacroix ranks inside the top five all-time in Penn history in points with 65 and minutes played with 5,030. He scored 25 goals during his stellar career, never scoring less than five in a season.
Lacroix's status as a potential MLS draft pick is highlighted by his inclusion on TopDrawerSoccer.com's latest "Big Board" where he ranks No. 73 among all draft eligible players.
The adidas MLS Player Combine takes place January 8-13 in Fort Lauderdale, Fla.
