PHILADELPHIA - The Ivy League has announced its weekly honors for men's basketball, and Penn's Jack Eggleston was named Ivy League Rookie of the Week.
Eggleston earns the honor for the second time this season, and it marks the seventh time a Penn player has received the weekly rookie honor this year.
Eggleston was honored after his performances against Harvard and Dartmouth this past weekend, as Penn opened up Ivy play with a pair of wins. Against Harvard, he scored eight points, snared six rebounds, and dished out four assists in 33 minutes. The following night, against Dartmouth, Eggleston had a career-high 16 points, six more boards, and filled the box score with four assists, three steals and two blocked shots.
Eggleston is currently third on the team in scoring, averaging 7.7 points per game, and is second with 4.2 rebounds per contest.
Penn is in action twice this weekend, traveling to New York to take on Columbia Friday night and then Cornell Saturday night. Tipoff for both contests is slated for 7 p.m.
