PHILADELPHIA Freshman Rachel Eng and Junior Tracy Statter picked up a pair of field hockey honors this week after helping Penn to a 2-0 record last week, including a come-from-behind win over No. 15 Villanova.
Statter was named women’sfieldhockey.com Player of the Week for her two goals and one assistin two games last week.The Lawrenceville, N.J. native scored two goals, including the game-winner against the Wildcats and then assisted on the only goal in the win over Dartmouth later in the week. It was Statter’s first multi-goal game of her career and first player of the week honor.
Eng was named Ivy League Rookie of the week after scoring her first collegiate goal in Penn's win over Villanova last Wednesday. Eng's unassisted tally tied the game 2-2 with five minutes left in regulation. Eng has made five starts this season and had a shot on goal against Dartmouth in Saturday's win over the Big Green.
The Quakers (4-3) travel to cross-town rival Temple on Wednesday, Oct. 5 for a Philadelphia City Six match-up. Face off is slated for 4 p.m.
