PHILADELPHIA - Its time to hit the water for four weekends of Fall racing. The University of Pennsylvania lightweights begin the 2015 Fall season with a pair of regattas on Saturday. The Quakers will be at the Navy Day regatta on the Schuylkill River and Head of the Housatonic in Shelton, Conn.

In Connecticut, Penn will have two boats competing in the Men's Open Collegiate 8+ race at 10:45 a.m. Meanwhile, back in Philadelphia, the Quakers will ahve three boats in the 4+ race at 10:18 a.m., a pair of crews in the lightweight 8+ race at 12:48 p.m., and two more boats in the frosh 4+ at 2:12 p.m.

This will be Penn's first trip to the Head of the Housatonic, but the Quakers are quite familiar with the Navy Day regatta, held annually on their home course. Last year, in the first regatta under head coachColin Farrell, the Red and Blue posted a second-place finish in the varsity race, won the 4+ race, finished third in the freshman race and added another second-place showing.

That sparked an impressive first season under Farrell as Penn posted its best finish at the IRA National Championships in a decade, and reached the Grand Final for just the second time since 1997 en route to a sixth-place showing. The lightweights also claimed the Callow Cup from Navy for just the second time in the last 15 years, and advanced to the IRA regatta for the second time in three seasons -- the program's best stretch since a three-year run from 2005-07.

A full Penn recap from each regatta will be available at PennAthletics.com following the conclusion of Saturday's events.
