Evanston, Ill. – It certainly was an exciting weekend for the University of Pennsylvania men’s and women’s fencing teams at the Northwestern University Duals this weekend, where the squads defeated two top ranked teams each. The Quakers, ranked No. 8 on both the men’s and women’s CollegeFencing360 Coaches Poll, took out Notre Dame’s teams and also defeated No. 7 Northwestern (women) and No. 10 Stanford (men). Penn’s women went 6-1 on the weekend, falling to No. 5 Ohio State (9-18); the men went 5-2, falling to No. 6 Ohio State (12-15) and UC San Diego (13-14).

With both the Red and Blue teams set to fence three top ranked teams each, the men had two back-to-back and the women had all three before the lunch break.
