Fencing Now in 11th Place at NCAA Championships

HOUSTON, TEXAS - At the conclusion of the women's competition at the NCAA Championships, the University of Pennsylvania fencing team is in 11th place with 35 total victories. The Quakers picked up 11 victories on Friday.

Abby Emerson and Ilana Sinkin combined for 10 victories in the foil. Emerson finished the competition in ninth place and Sinkin took 15th. Emerson earned honorable mention All-America status for her performance.

Holly Buechel finished in 21st place in the epee with six victories over the two-day event. Cassandra Partyka picked up one victory on Friday for a total of four. She finished in 23rd place.

The men's will look to improve the team's place in the standings - as they begin competition on Saturday morning.
