Field Hockey Announces Class of 2015

PHILADELPHIA -The University of Pennsylvania's head coach of field hockey, Colleen Fink, has announced her incoming athletes for the 2011 season. Eight women will join the Quakers this fall as freshmen.

"Our staff was hired very late last year and was determined to bring in the best possible class," said Fink, who enters her second year at Penn in 2011. "We feel we found a competitive group of young women who have a great work ethic, are passionate about the sport, expect success, and are extremely versatile. We welcome them and their supportive families to the Penn Field Hockey Family!"

Penn begins the 2011 season on Friday, Sept. 2 at American University.

Wayne, Pa./ Radnor
High School: Lettered four times in field hockey and lacrosse ... Captain of the FH team her senior year ... Helped team to 2009 state tournament and league championship ... Four-time first-team All-Central League and All-Main Line ... Two-time first-team All-Delco (2009, 2010) ... Helped lacrosse team to four league titles and three state championships from 2008-10 ... Honorable mention All-Central League in lax in 2011 ... National Honor Society member.

Coach Fink on Helene: "If there is one word to describe Helene, it's tough. She stands her ground in the backfield and has many of the intangible qualities that we look for when evaluating athletes. She is a strong decision maker and knows the game well."

High School: Lettered three times in field hockey and soccer, and once in ice hockey ... As a senior, captain of field hockey team that advanced to state final ... High School: Lettered three times in field hockey and four times in lacrosse ... Two-year captain of both teams ...
