NEW HAVEN, Conn. - The Penn field hockey team saw its modest two-game winning streak ended in emphatic fashion, as Yale scored six times in the first half and never looked back in taking a 10-0 decision Saturday afternoon.

Yale dominated throughout the day, outshooting Penn by an astounding 40-5 and forcing Quaker goalkeepers Danielle Rothman and Kieran Sweeney to combine for 16 saves.

Yale scored twice in the game's first six minutes, and then a four-goal outburst over a nine-minute span late in the first half spelled doom for Penn. Emily Schuckert, Taylor Sankovich and Dinah Landshut all scored twice, and Sankovich added two assists while Landshut had one. Erica Borgo had a goal and an assist.

Kirstin Snyder had four of Penn's five shots, including the only effort on goal. Erin Healy had the Quakers' only other shot.

Penn is home next Sunday for its final home game of 2010, hosting Brown at noon on Franklin Field.
