PHILADELPHIA The University of Pennsylvania women’s field hockey team fell to 0-2 on the season, aslosing to No. 15 Ohio State, 4-0, in the Blue Hen Classic at the University of Delaware.
Ohio State extendedits win streak to three games, holding the Quakers to just three shots in the entire game while putting 22 on goal. Penn’s senior goalkeeper, Elizabeth Schlossberg, played a strong game, making 18 saves to give her 26 for the weekend.
Despite three attempts -- two by junior Melissa Black, one by sophomore midfielder Margaretha Ehret -- the Quakers couldn’t get any shots past Ohio’s freshman goalkeeper, Lindsay Quintilani. Quintilani is the current Big Ten Defensive Player of the Week, and earned her first career shutout with the win.
The Quakers will look to bounce back from this weekend'slosses on Wednesday, as they host Saint Joseph’s in their first home game of the year. Start time is scheduled for 7:15 at Franklin Field.
