PHILADELPHIA - Back in action for the first time since the Fall, the University of Pennsylvania field hockey team went 3-0-1 in its spring tournament against some of the nations top teams.
The Quakers started their day with a 1-1 draw with Penn State, but went on to win their next three games over American, 2-1, Fairfield, 2-1, and a 3-2 victory over national champion Syracuse.
All five teams played four games and Penn was the only team to complete the day undefeated.
"This weekend was a true test and great preparation for our improved 2016 schedule." said Head Coach Colleen Fink. "Penn Field Hockey wants to take the next steps necessary in being nationally competitive and relevant. This weekend we played a true team style of hockey, implemented some new features we have been working on this spring and genuinely enjoyed playing together as a family."
Penn will finish it's spring slate with the University of Delaware Spring Tournament on Saturday in Newark.
