Field Hockey Hosts Yale Sunday

PHILADELPHIA - The Penn field hockey team faces off against Yale on Sunday at 1 p.m. at Franklin Field. Yale is the first of four straight Ivy Conference opponents who the Quakers will play to conclude the regular season.

The Red and Blue hold a 21-9-2 all-time edge over the Bulldogs and heads into Sunday's matchup with a five game winning streak against them. Yale's last win over the Quakers came in 2003 with a 2-1 victory at Franklin Field.

With last weekend's game versus Columbia postponed due to inclement weather, Penn hasn't seen action since October 14 when they lost 4-1 to their University City rival, Drexel. Laurel McGarvie and Sarah Hasson lead Penn's offense with five goals while Tahan (nine points) and Sarah Warner (six points) have also made contributions. In the cage, Sweeney boasts 83 saves with a .755 save average in 898:14 minutes of play.

The Bulldogs are 9-5 overall and 3-1 in the Ivy League. In their last outing against Quinnipiac, Senior midfielder Katie Cantore set a school record with 15 assists in a single season. Fellow senior Ashley McCauley leads the team with 11 goals and 24 points. McCauley is seven points away from the all-time school points record, and six goals away from the program's all-time goals record. At net, Yale has been going with a two goalie tandem the entire season. Junior Katie Bolling has notched 507:50 minutes, with 21 saves and a .656 save percentage. Senior Charlotte Goins has played 481:51 minutes with 31 saves and .674 save percentage.
