Field Hockey Places 10 on NFHCA Academic Squad

PHILADELPHIA – The University of Pennsylvania field hockey had 10 members named to the 2015 ZAG Field Hockey National Field Hockey Coaches Association (NFHCA) Division I National Academic Squad.

The 10 Quakers recognized were – seniors Alex Agathis, Elizabeth Hitti, and Stephanie Honig, junior Claire Kneizys, sophomores Gina Guccione and Jasmine Li, and freshmen Selena Garzio, Reina Kern, Paige Meily and Karen Seid.

After being named to the 2015 NFHCA Academic Squad, Agathis and Hitti both complete their careers with four recognitions.

The National Academic Squad recognizes those student-athletes who have achieved a cumulative GPA of 3.30 or higher through the first semester of the 2015-16 academic year.

In addition to the 10 individuals recognized by the NFHCA, the Penn field hockey team was also named a recipient of the 2015 ZAG Field Hockey NFHCA Academic Team Award. The National Academic Team Award recognizes those institutions that have achieved a team GPA of 3.0 or higher during the first semester of the 2015-16 academic year.

The 2015 team award is the 10th consecutive for Penn, dating back to 2006.
