Philadelphia - The University of Pennsylvania field hockey team is back in action Wednesday afternoon when it takes on cross-town rival Saint Joseph's University. Game time is set for 3 p.m. at Drexel's Buckley Field.
The Quakers will enter the game 0-2 after the season's opening weekend. Penn lost an overtime heartbreaker to Monmouth 2-1 on Friday, and fell 4-1 to Virginia Commonwealth University on Sunday.
Leading the Quakers' offense, seniors Sarah Warner and Kelsey Tahan have each scored a goal, while Tahan and sophomore Kirstin Snyder have been credited with an assist apiece.
Goalkeeper Kieran Sweeney tallied nine saves on the weekend and played every minute in the net.
Penn leads the all-time series 9-6 against Saint Joseph's, but has lost the last three meetings. Last year the Hawks came out on top 2-1.
Much like Penn, Saint Joseph's opened its season 0-2 with a 4-1 loss to VCU, and a tough overtime defeat to Duke 4-3.
Sophomore Ellen Rowe leads Saint Joseph's scoring with two goals, while juniors Hannah Rogers and Jen Wrublesky have netted one.
