PHILADELPHIA The Penn field hockey team is headed to colder territory to take on Ivy rival Dartmouth in Hanover, N.H., on Saturday at noon. This game is important to the Quakers and Big Green, as both teams are involved in a four-way tie for third place.
Penn is looking to continue its winning ways that was started last weekend with a big win over Harvard, 2-0, that improved the Quakers to 1-1 in the Ivy League and 2-7 overall.
Senior Margaretha Ehret anchors the Penn offense with four goals and four assists. Ehret is currently fifth in the Ivy League for total points, 12. Senior Christina Ferrier, Rachel Eng and sophomore Laurel McGarvie have tallied two goals apiece. Ferrier has also assisted on three goals.
Goalie Alanna Butera enters this game with two shutouts and an Ivy-high 58 saves.
The Big Green heads into the contest with a 1-6 record and a 1-1 mark in conference play. Penn defense will be keeping a watch on Dartmouth freshman Kelly Hood, who currently leads the Big Green with three goals, all of which have come in the past three games.
Big Green goalie Meagan Vakiener has recorded 45 saves over Dartmouth’s seven games.
