Final Day of Cissie Leary Invitational Wraps Up

PHILADELPHIA – The 18th Annual Cissie Leary Memorial Invitational wrapped up its final day of play on Sunday afternoon at the Hamlin Tennis Center on the University of Pennsylvania campus.

The three day tournament that ran Friday through Sunday, featuredtwo singles flights (A & B), along with one doubles flight (A), with each flight consisting of 32 pairings. Ten teams participated in this year’s event – Harvard, Princeton, Yale, Maryland, Old Dominion, Penn State, Richmond, St. John’s, and Temple – along with the hosting Quakers.

In singles Flight 'A', Princeton senior Lindsay Graff outlasted Penn senior Sol Eskenazi 6-3, 6-3 to take home the trophy.

Harvard sophomore Monica Lin and freshman Annika Ringblom defeated Princeton's Graff and freshman Katrine Steffensen, 8-4, to take home the doubles title.

In its 18th year, the Penn women’s tennis program looks forwardto sharing this wonderful opportunity to host a tournament in the memory of one of its beloved coaches, Cissie Leary, who succumbed to a long-term battle with scleroderma in November of 1996.
