PHILADELPHIA - The University of Pennsylvania men's lacrosse program will be represented by five individuals -- Associate Head Coach Patrick Myers, and rising sophomores Tyler Dunn, Noah Lejman, Simon Mathias and Alex Roesner -- at the Federation of International Lacrosse (FIL) Under-19 World Championship. The event is being held in Coquitlam, British Columbia (Canada) and running from July 7-16.
All five Quakers are competing with the United States team that is in the Blue Division, one of three five-team divisions through pool play. The U.S. will open the tournament with host Canada on July 7, followed by Australia on July 9, Iroquois Nationals on July 11, and England on July 12. Knockout games will start on July 13, and the championship game will take place on Saturday, July 16.
This is the eighth Under-19 Championship; the first event took place in 1988 and has run every four years since then. The United States has been the champion every time.
