PHILADELPHIA - Senior center Jennifer Fleischer was named Ivy League Co-Player of the Week today for her 32-point, 32-rebound performance in two games for the Quakers last weekend.
The New Hartford, N.Y., native put together perhaps the best performance of her career at Penn, as she became just the seventh player in program history to record a 20-20 game with 25 points and 21 rebounds (both tying career-highs) to lead the Quakers to a 64-49 victory over Columbia on Feb. 17. Fleischer also added five blocks, two assists and a steal, and with her last rejection, passed Quaker-great Diana Caramanico for second on Penn's all-time blocks list.
Against Columbia on Feb. 18, Fleischer scored seven points to compliment 11 rebounds and five more blocks.
Fleischer leads the Ivy League with 10.7 rebounds per game.
The Quakers return to action on Friday, Feb. 24, as they travel to Boston, Mass., to face Harvard at 7 p.m.
