PHILADELPHIA - The march for No. 17 starts on the 17th for the University of Pennsylvania football team. The Quakers begin their quest for a league record-tying 17th Ivy title on Tuesday, March 17th with their first practice of the spring season. The 16-time Ivy League champions will hold 12 practices and will cap the 2015 spring season with the annual Red vs. Blue Spring Game on Saturday, April 11.
The Quakers begin their first spring season under head coach Ray Priore two days after the University’s week-long spring break. In a change from past years, the team will practice in the morning on most days. Depending on the weather each day, the Quakers will have the option to practice in the Dunning-Cohen Champions Air Structure or Franklin Field. The Red and Blue are scheduled to be in full pads at least six times during the five weeks of spring ball with the first such practice slated for March 22.
The annual Red vs. Blue Spring Game is set to begin at 1 p.m., concluding the 2015 spring football season on April 11.
