For Al Bagnoli, the program's all-time winningest head coach, this marks his 22nd season of spring practice at Penn. It officially started Tuesday night at 8:15 p.m., with the program's first practice. The team will then practice 11 more times during the 25-day spring season.
The Spring Game on Saturday, April 6 is open to the public as fans will have their first chance to check out the defending champions. A full practice schedule can be found here. Multiple rain dates have been scheduled to ensure that Penn gets in all 12 practices.
The Quakers won their third outright Ivy League title in four years in 2012 - a feat which had not been accomplished since 1977-80, but has now been duplicated twice in a decade under head coach Al Bagnoli. Penn finished with a 6-1 league record and 6-4 mark overall. In 2013, Penn will be vying for an unprecedented fourth title in five years and has eight returners that were named All-Ivy last season, including two first-team honorees.
