PHILADELPHIA - Entering his first season at the helm of the University of Pennsylvania football program, head coach Ray Priore announced his first official recruiting class on Tuesday. The Red and Blue welcome 31 members in the Class of 2019.

A full breakdown of the Class of 2019, including individual bios and video highlights can be found below. The complete group was also announced on instagram (@pennfootball).

"I couldn't be more excited for the future of our program," Priore said. "This group embodies the grit and grind characteristics that define Penn Football. We set high goals for our program and this class has the opportunity to be a part of something really special over the next four years. I can't wait to see them in a Penn uniform."

In Priore's first official recruiting class, 16 incoming freshmen will join the offense - six linemen, four wide receivers, two running backs, a quarterback, and three tight ends. Fifteen will become part of Bob Benson'sdefensive unit - five defensive linemen, six defensive backs and four linebackers.

The 31 incoming freshmen hail from a total of 14 different states, led by seven from California and four each from the home state of Pennsylvania and neighboring New Jersey. Two players apiece will come to the City of Brotherly Love from Maryland, Florida, Colorado, New York and Ohio. Other states represented include Texas, Tennessee, Rhode Island, Michigan, Virginia and Louisiana.

For the program that holds the NCAA record for games played, the Quakers will officially begin their 139th season with practice in late August. The first game is slated for Sept. 19 at Lehigh and the home opener is two weeks later against Dartmouth on Oct. 3. Game times as well as radio and television schedules will be announced later this summer.
