PHILADELPHIA - Honored during the men's basketball game against Yale Saturday night, the University of Pennsylvania football team and staff received their 2009 Ivy League championship rings.

The team was recognized at mid-court of The Palestra as 2009 co-captains, Chris Wynn, Kyle Derham and Jake Lewko hoisted the 2009 Ivy League championship trophy to a standing ovation from the crowd.

The 2009 Quakers dropped their first two games - both to nationally ranked opponents that included the eventual national champions - before winning their last eight to complete the program's seventh unbeaten Ivy campaign - a league record. It was also the school's 14th Ivy League championship - second all-time - and the 11th outright title - another Ivy record.

Penn will begin its title defense on Sept. 18 when they open the 2010 season at Franklin Field against Lafayette.
