Football Seniors Lend a Hand to Incoming Freshmen

PHILADELPHIA, Pa. – In between team meetings and the three-hour team practice on Thursday, seniors from the University of Pennsylvania football team spent most of their afternoon helping the school’s incoming freshmen move into their dorms.

With classes set to begin on Wednesday, Sept. 3, thousands of students are flocking to the Penn campus this weekend to settle into their dorm rooms for the next two semesters. As is custom, the seniors from the Penn football team annually donate their time during this busy stretch to lend a hand in the process.

Penn football begins the 2008 campaign – in which a school-record seven games will be televised, including three nationally – on Sept. 20 with city-rival Villanova on regional cable channel CN8 at Franklin Field at 3:30 p.m.

Season and single-game tickets for Penn football are available through Penn’s website at Tickets are also available at the ticket office located at Weightman Hall on 235 South 33rd Street, or by phone at 215-898-6151. The ticket office is open Monday through Friday from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.
