For Al Bagnoli, the program's all-time winningest head coach, this marks his 21st season of spring practice at Penn. It officially starts Tuesday night at 8:15 p.m., with the program's first official practice inside the Seasonal Air Structure at Dunning-Cohen Champions Field. The team will then practice 11 more times during the 24-day spring season.
A full practice schedule can be found here. Multiple rain dates have been scheduled to ensure that Penn gets in all 12 practices.
Penn finished the 2011 season tied for second in the Ivy League with a 4-3 conference record and 5-5 mark overall. The Quakers are returning 17 of their 25 starters, including three All-Ivy honorees last season. On offense, four of five offensive linemen return as well as quarterback Billy Ragone and All-Ivy running back Brandon Colavita. Defensively, seven regular starters are back in 2012, including All-Ivy defensive lineman Brandon Copeland. The Quakers lose two-year long-snapper Ed Kispert, but return punter Scott Lopano and kicker Connor Loftus on special teams.
